As the name implies, the Western Tanager is not usually found in Brooklyn. This bird showed up in the fall of 2020 and caused a bit of a stir. He spent a few weeks in the cemetery, frequently returning to the same yew tree. The yew was also frequented by a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker that would make holes that the Tanager would share for food.
