Perhaps the signature bird of The Green-Wood Cemetery, the Monk Parakeets are always there to meet you on the Gothic arches at the main entrance.
Dubious tales of dropped crates at the airport abound, but more likely this is just the result of escaped pets from a communal species finding each other.
Native to the mountains of Costa Rica the cold weather is not an issue for these parakeets.
